About Us...
The South Bank Players amateur dramatic group has developed out of a group originally formed over 25 years ago. Started by the late Nina Heath and other like minded individuals over coffee after church one Sunday at Barrow Trinity Church and formerly known as Barrow Trinity Players the group developed over the coming years. A small group went on to create "Just Good Friends", and performed plays. Since then members of the Barrow Trinity Players and Just Good Friends have joined with other drama enthusiasts, relocating to Barton-upon-Humber to become the South Bank Players. And the rest (as they say..) is history! Please check out our "Events" page to see our forthcoming productions. We look forward to welcoming you to our group. You can always contact us via the "Contact Us" page and we shall endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
Who are we...
We range from 6 years to ......well maybe it's best not say! and our members vary from those on stage to those who assist backstage/front of house/set design/sound & light as well as supervising the youngsters in the group at performances. Whatever your age, you are assured of a warm welcome to the group where you can show off your talents both on and off stage. Our chairman of the group is Mr Dennis Bloor, with Vice Chair - Mrs Jeanine Guy, Treasurer - Mr Peter Swann and Secretary - Mrs Mikyla Marlow. Our youth group leaders are all CRB checked and their aim is to develop the childrens confidence as well as various drama techniques, at the same time having fun! The group put on plays, festival plays and pantomimes throughout the year along with the spooky ghost walk!
